Well here it is! The final project and the final exhibition. Enjoy.
Another sneak peek of the exhibition installation. It is now up and will be ready for viewing on Saturday morning! The opening is May 11th but I will be gallery sitting this Saturday at the Northrup King building in NE Minneapolis from 2:30-5:00pm!
Some more progress shots of the exhibition panels. As you might notice, a certain siamese has her eye on the work and is keeping me on task
Working on the 6 ft panels for the thesis installation, just a little sneak peek!
Progress Update
The mock up binding is complete and the final material orders should be sent off any day now. That means we are in the home stretch! I hope to put the softcover book up for sale sometime soon and have added a section that has tools you can cut out and assemble.
I’m thinking this book will be sold in three separate editions -
10 Deluxe Editions - 1,200.00
5-15 Special Editions -150.00
Unlimited Softcovers - 50.00
The Deluxe Edition:
The Hard cover book with letterpress printing on Hanmuhle paper
The handmade tools - glyph cards, letterpress word wheel, dice, string, CD of exercises
A limited edition broadside
A handmade case that fits the book and tools
Signed by the artist
The Special Edition:
A softcover version of the book
The handmade tools - glyph cards, letterpress word wheel, dice, string, CD of exercises
A handmade case to house the tools
To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science.
Printing is complete! Binding will be underway soon. Tons of little progress pictures to come. I’m choosing the bookcloth now and finishing up the mock up binding
Print, Print, Print! All the vandercook work is done
